Junior Medical Officer training
We offer Junior Medical Officer (JMO) training at Dubbo and Orange Health Services, with the opportunity to do a full 2 year internship and residency in either Dubbo or Orange.
This experience will give you a firm foundation of general medical and surgical terms, and sub-specialty terms, from which to begin specialty training or move into training in General Practice.

Orange Health Service
Orange Health Service is a 270‐bed major rural referral hospital and the regional trauma centre servicing 300,000 people. The hospital has just celebrated 10 years since relocating to the Bloomfield campus – the largest rural campus in the Southern Hemisphere.
Orange Health Service has a strong emphasis on high quality education for JMOs.

Dubbo Health Service
Recently completing a $250 million redevelopment, Dubbo Health Service is a state-of-the-art facility in which to train. Emergency medicine is one of our most popular terms, guaranteed to provide hands on and procedural exposure in a fast paced clinical environment. Many past trainees have obtained competitive metropolitan training positions in emergency, medicine and surgery.
We maintain a strong partnership with the Health Education and Training Insititute (HETI), offering Senior Resident Medical Officers (SRMOs) exposure to anaesthetics, emergency and obstetrics and gynaecology career pathways.
We are passionate about seeing our trainees meet their career goals, whether that means further training with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, entry into a Specialist Training Program, or pursuing rural and remote practice as a Rural Generalist.
Undertaking your Internship and Resident training at Dubbo Health Service will provide you with unmatched hands-on experience in clinical medicine in a supportive team environment – all in a beautiful and evolving regional city.
