Parkes Health Service - a great place to work
Parkes Hospital is part of the Lachlan Health Service, which also includes Forbes Hospital.
Parkes Health Service was opened in 2015 after a $72.8 million dollar build. Its opening saw enhanced health services and stronger partnership for region wide service delivery with Forbes Hospital as part of the Lachlan Health Service.
Parkes Hospital offers 24 hour emergency department, medical, maternity (including Midwifery Group Practice) rehabilitation and palliative care, chemotherapy, minor surgical plus endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, gynaecology surgery, obstetrics, ophthalmology, colonoscopy and gastroscopy and after hour’s emergency surgery cover. Diagnostic services including CT scanner, ultrasound, x-ray and pathology.
Visiting services include psychology, podiatry, psychiatry, and oncology clinics with virtual appointments available.
Parkes also provides a Hospital in the Home service, with a nurse practitioner offering hospital services and liaison to local aged care facilities to enable hospital avoidance to patients.

Getting here and getting away
Parkes is a 5 hour drive to Sydney, or a direct flight (45 mins) to Sydney. Parkes regional airport
It is a 1 hour drive to Orange and 1.5 hour drive to Dubbo. From Orange, there are direct flights to Sydney (1 hour) and Melbourne (1.5 hours).
From Dubbo there are direct flights to Sydney (1 hour), Brisbane (1.5 hours) and Melbourne (2 hours).
