Rylstone MPS has an emergency department, inpatient beds and a residential aged care facility. Services include medical imaging, renal dialysis, dental, opioid replacement program, community midwifery, Aboriginal health and physiotherapy. Visiting services include podiatry and mental health drug and alcohol services.

Rylstone is genuinely charming and beautiful, historic village on the Cudgegong River. Located in an area of great beauty - Glen Davis (one of the most beautiful places in the Capertee Valley), Dunns Swamp and Lake Windamere are all easily accessible. Rylstone is a 3hr 30min drive from Sydney and around 45 minutes from Mudgee.
There are three bus services a day to and from Mudgee and three services that connect with the train at Lithgow for Sydney.
