Canowindra Health Serviceis a busy local hospital with 24-hour emergency care, inpatient beds, rehabilitation and palliative care.
Pathology services available Monday to Friday and for emergencies, with point-of-care testing. The service offers X-ray and ultrasound and an opioid replacement program.
Outpatient primary and community care services include physiotherapy, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs, falls prevention and physical stability group programs which make use of the gymnasium area and local swimming pool.
Community health services include in-home visits, clinics and outpatient consultations for a variety of services including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, diet and nutrition, social work, community nursing, speech therapy, and child and family health.
Visiting services include women’s health, drug and alcohol services, mental health, community outreach and geriatrics.
A private GP practice is also on-site.

Canowindra - a great place to live
Canowindra is situated between Orange and Cowra and has maintained a charmingly friendly small-town atmosphere with just under 3,000 people.
Nestled within historical buildings and museums, a unique ‘bendy’ main street, Canowindra is an arts and tourism hub, and supports the surrounding farming community.
Canowindra is known for its ballooning and fish fossils. A 360 million year-old fossil find is the foundation for the Age of Fishes Museum located in Canowindra. The Historical Museum is also worth a visit with Canowindra having a colourful bushranger heritage to explore steeped in folklore.
Visitors and locals alike enjoy Canowindra’s local produce, dining and wine experiences, cafes, takeaways, country pubs, and clubs. Canowindra has two supermarkets, a butcher, newsagency, post office, pharmacy, hairdresser, motels and other interesting independent stores.
Social activities in Canowindra include playgroup, Country Women's Association, story time at the library, Canowindra connections centre, live music, bingo, Latin fit, old time dancing, and twilight markets. There are lots of events including the annual International Balloon Challenge, community balloon glow event, Banjo Patterson festival dinner and other community events.

Getting here and getting away
Canowindra is a 40 minute drive from Orange and 30 minute drive from Cowra. Drive to Sydney in around 4 hours.
There are daily flights from Orange to Sydney and weekday flights to Brisbane and Melbourne. Find flight services at Orange regional airport.
Trains run between Sydney and Orange twice daily, with a coach service to meet the TrainLink/train from Sydney to Lithgow which runs more frequently - visit Transport for NSW
