Architecturally, Forbes is a mix of heritage building and contemporary public art, creating an eclectic streetscape that surround the centrepiece of the town, Lake Forbes.
There is always something to do with key events including Grazing down the Lachlan, Taste On Templar, Frost and Fire celebrating the winter solstice, horse racing, including picnic races in surrounding villages. At any time of year you can follow ‘Sculptures down the Lachlan’ trail towards Condobolin and nature pursuits include bird watching, fishing and swimming in the river.
Lifestyle in Forbes is balance at its best. Forbes offers a variety of schools, and it's just a two minute drive between dance class, football practice and the supermarket. Your commute is minimal so you can relax in a local cafe and enjoy a barista made coffee before arriving at work.
At the Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre, ancient culture and sacred meeting places are shared through interpretive panels and totems, telling stories of the spiritual connection to land and country.
