Blayney - a great place to live
Blayney is a town with a population of 3,500, and is a comfortable 25 minutes drive to Bathurst (pop 44,112) and to Orange (pop 41,920).
Adelaide Street, the main street through town is a step back into the 19th Century, with a parade of late-Victorian mansions, villas and bungalows many with mature gardens and retaining their old stable buildings.
Blayney township has a large supermarket, butcher, bakery, several restaurants, takeaways, hotels, and a newsagent.
Blayney's prosperity lies in its rich natural resources and supporting infrastructure. Key sectors include mining, manufacturing, agriculture, construction, education and training.
The industrial and business sector in the Blayney Shire is well established and hosts a number of large companies including Blayney SeaLink (a major cold storage operation), Linfox (transport), Nestlè (pet food production), both Newmont and Regis Resources in mining, Australian Native Landscapes, a large food wholesaler and Blayney Shire Council. There are lots of opportunities for partner employment in Blayney.
The Blayney Shire is home to many well reserved historical villages, often used as filming backdrops. Carcoar, Barry, Millthorpe Lyndhurst, Mandurama, Neville and Newbridge, are all picture perfect villages within the district.
Many attractions and features make the Blayney Shire a great place to live. Bushwalking, cycling and horse riding in the countryside; water sports at Carcoar Dam; fishing in streams and waterways; or exploring the mining and agricultural heritage, so there is lots to do. Sport of course is king, and Blayney has some fabulous sporting facilities including an indoor recreation area with pool.
Blayney has a library and many parks and playgrounds and hold significant events throughout the year.
With your dollar going further than in the real estate markets of Bathurst and Orange, Blayney is a place where you can live the lifestyle you have always dreamed.
