Narromine Health Service - a great place to work
Narromine Health Service is 40kms from Dubbo and has 12 acute beds with the ability to surge to 17 beds, an emergency department and maintenance renal dialysis unit. A range of other services are avilable including Aboriginal health, women's health.
The township has a residential aged care facility located next to the Narromine Health Service, a large medical centre which provides medical, dental and pathology services. A physiotherapist, dietician, podiatrist, outreach midwife and respiratory clinical nurse consultant also visit the centre.
After hours support offered such as vCare and the Virtual Rural Generalist Service (VRGS) – a dedicated virtual Rural Generalist team who support RGs in rural and remote communities with after hours support and leave - ensure an on-call roster that is both flexible and sustainable.

Narromine - a great place to live
Narromine is a family focused town with a population of 3,500. It is located a 30-minute drive from the regional city of Dubbo. Its economy is centred on agriculture but also supports a number of other industries including health, education and mining.
Narromine is famous for its aviation and sporting history; it was home to sporting legends Glenn McGrath, David Gilespie and Melinda Gainsford-Taylor.
The Region is a popular location for fishing, water skiing, canoeing, swimming and other water activities as well as picnics and outdoor adventures with national parks close by.
Climate
In Narromine, the climate is generally warm and temperate - the summers are hot and the winters are cold. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 3°C to 33°C.

Narromine Shire has been shaped by the culture of the Wiradjuri People, early farmers and by their strong aviation and sporting history.
There are a number of services available in town including 3 supermarkets, restaurants and cafes for dining out, a post office, 2 banking facilities retail stores and pharmacy. Dubbo is a 30 minute drive away with a larger range of retail stores and shopping centre.
Narromine has a large range of sporting and recreational facilities including tennis and squash courts, 50m swimming pool, 18-hole golf course and more and is home to the oldest Aero Club in regional Australia and is ranked 3rd in the world for the best gliding locations.

Getting here and getting away
Narromine is a 6 hour and 30-minute drive northwest from Sydney and a 30-minute drive west from Dubbo.
Dubbo has direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle and Canberra and has over 12 flights departing daily. For current schedules visit the Dubbo Regional Airport website.
