The Peak Hill Multipurpose Service (MPS) was re-developed in 2015, positioned just behind the original district hospital which was built in 1905.
Peak Hill MPS has two sub-acute beds, two respite/palliative beds, rural emergency care service, consultation rooms, 10 high care residential aged care beds, respite care, diversional therapy, GP services, chronic disease management programs and clinics and ambulatory and community acute/ post-acute services. During the re-development, existing staff accommodation was also refurbished.

Peak Hill - a great place to live
Peak Hill has a population of around 700. The town was established when gold was discovered in 1889. Peak Hill is centrally located on the Newell Highway - the main highway link between Melbourne and Brisbane.
A friendly, peaceful, rural community, Peak Hill is nestled close to the Hervey Ranges which form an enchanting kaleidoscope of colours as the eastern backdrop of the town.
Peak Hill has a Central School (kindergarten to year 12) which is a leader in the state in the development of a co-operative multi-cultural educational environment. Small secondary class sizes ensure that students are offered a wide and varied range of subject choices. In senior years, an extensive curriculum is offered through involvement in programs including the Western Access Program and Joint Secondary Schools TAFE program. A pre-school centre, library and youth centre are also at Peak Hill.
An active and diverse sporting centre, Peak Hill boasts excellent recreational facilities with those provided by the Golf Club (with state-wide recognised sand greens), the Bowling Club, Ex-Services Club, public swimming pool and tennis court. Peak Hill has four churches.

Peak Hill is a quintessential small Australian town. As well as the school there are four churches, golf club, bowling club and RSL. Facilities include a tennis court and swimming pool. Peak Hill has a cafe, a deli and a range of arts and craft shops.
Peak Hill's facilities are complemented by the nearby town of Parkes. With one of the most substantial sporting communities in the central west, it would be hard to find a day of the week where you could not participate in a team sport. Parkes also has a full range of national chain stores and supermarkets and some really different specialty shops.
Parkes is a growing town as the hub of the Inland Rail and also many profitable resource mines - leading to many employment opportunities for partners.
A historic, goldmining town in the Central West region of NSW, Peak Hill defied the boom-to-bust fate that befell other such towns and endured well beyond the gold rush. Now known for its antiques and arts and crafts, as well as its heritage open-cut gold mine, Peak Hill is a worthy stopover for browsing antiques and exploring the surrounding beautiful bushland.

Getting here and getting away
Peak Hill is a 5 hour drive from Sydney, approximately 8 hours from Melbourne and 4 hours from Canberra.
It is a 50 minute drive to Dubbo from Peak Hill. Dubbo has direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Canberra and has over 12 flights departing daily. For current schedules please visit the Dubbo Regional Airport website
You can travel from Sydney to Peak Hill by train, with a connecting bus, drive 30 mins to Parkes and fly to Sydney.
