Our services
Our pharmacy services are for hospital patients, and some outpatient clinic patients who are prescribed specialist medications.
You can find a community pharmacy or chemist through Find a Pharmacy.
Our pharmacy service is made up of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who work as part of the healthcare team looking after patients in hospital. We work closely with doctors and nurses to support the best use of medicines.
We have onsite pharmacies in Bathurst, Cowra, Dubbo, Forbes, Mudgee, Orange, and Parkes which provide outreach services to other communities and provide a virtual clinical pharmacy service to all of our other sites.

Outpatient cancer services
We have a team of specially trained oncology and haematology pharmacists that work across the district.
We offer cancer patients and their carers one-on-one education about the patient’s medications. This can be done either in person, or virtually. We can also provide up-to-date medication lists and charts to help you take your cancer medications as prescribed. Our pharmacists are often part of a multidisciplinary team, which brings together a number of healthcare providers to support cancer patients.
Our pharmacists are involved in national and international cancer pharmacist organisations and participate in research and quality improvement activities to ensure we can offer the most up to date treatments and information.

Medication review for inpatients
While you're in hospital, a hospital pharmacist (either in person or on a video conference) or a doctor will ask about any medications that you take, and how and when you normally take them. This is called a medication review and is an important part of planning your treatment. They may talk to you about changing some of your medications while you are in hospital, and after you go home.
When you leave hospital
The pharmacist and doctor will work together to record the information from the medication review and send it to your local doctor. As you get ready to leave hospital, ask your healthcare staff any questions you have about your medications.
If you have already left hospital and have questions about your medicines your community pharmacist or doctor can help, or you can contact your local hospital and ask to speak with the hospital pharmacist.
