Over 1400 addresses are eligible to connect to the new fibre network.
To check whether your home is included in the rollout area, use Opticomm's address checker tool.
About the project
The NSW Government and Opticomm have partnered to deliver a high-speed fibre network for the communities of Wamboin, Bywong and Sutton.
The fibre network will future-proof and improve connectivity, and it delivers on the government’s long-standing commitment to these communities.
Opticomm will construct the network using innovative, next-generation technology to deliver internet service which is affordable to install and is able to overcome the regions challenging topography.
Installation of the fibre to your home is a government-funded initiative and being provided free of charge for eligible Wamboin, Bywong and Sutton residents.
Delivery process and next steps
The Wamboin, Bywong and Sutton internet connectivity project is now in the delivery phase, led by Opticomm.
Construction of the fibre network has commenced, and homes in Sutton Village will be the first connected. The rollout is being delivered in a staged approach, with Opticomm’s FTTP construction crews connecting small groups of addresses at a time.
Residents included in the first rollout stage (Sutton Village) should have received an information pack in the mail. If you've missed it, you can request an information pack directly by emailing Opticomm.
The rollout is expected to move towards Wamboin next, contingent on conditions. Residents in these areas will receive their information pack in the mail approximately 4 weeks prior to work commencing in your street.
The information pack outlines Opticomm's scope of work and the steps residents take to prepare for the installation and connection at their home.
