Parramatta Square workplace hub
The Parramatta Square workplace hub delivers modern, flexible and sustainable workplaces which accommodate around 10,000 public service workers.
The Parramatta workplace hub is the largest single government workplace in the southern hemisphere, bringing together around 10,000 public servants across multiple NSW Government departments and agencies.
Located at 4 and 6 Parramatta Square, the Parramatta workplace hub is a standout example of a future-focused workplace, providing a modern, flexible, sustainable working environment that caters to the needs of the government’s diverse workforce.
The 2 towers connect with a shared lobby and glass footbridge on level 11, which provides access to the whole-of-government touchdown workplaces, a flexible working space available for all NSW Government employees to work on an ad hoc casual basis.
Background
The Parramatta workplace hub, delivered in partnership with Walker Corporation, helped realise the vision for Parramatta Square, revitalising this ideal location connected to Parramatta train station by bringing the people needed to create a thriving square that is now the civic heart of Parramatta.
The project supported several NSW Government policies at the time, including the now complete Decade of Decentralisation Policy, which called for 100,000 m2 of government workplace to be relocated from the Sydney CBD to Western Sydney and regional NSW by 2021.
The Parramatta workplace hub achieved this almost single-handedly through the establishment of this inter-connected campus at Parramatta Square. This ensures the economic benefits and job opportunities of the NSW public service are positioned within the heart of Sydney, arguably where it can have the greatest impact on equity and economic prosperity.
