The Public Safety Network (PSN) delivers critical communications services for NSW.
The PSN is a radio network used by frontline emergency services, government agencies and essential services to communicate via radio handsets and other devices during emergencies.
The PSN helps save lives. Next to Australia’s triple zero emergency hotline, the PSN is the most important critical communications network in NSW and one of the largest of its type in the world.

Who can request access to the PSN?
The PSN is for:
- Emergency Services Organisations
- essential services
- government agencies
- local councils.
Developers of new infrastructure projects in NSW can ask for guidelines and advice on In-Building Coverage (IBC). IBC gives first responders access to the PSN indoors or underground during an emergency. Locations include commercial properties, sports and recreation facilities, airports, train stations and tunnels.
