Getting help with costs
Find support for living and medical expenses if you have a chronic illness or care for someone who does.
Having a chronic illness can mean paying more for health care, medication and changes to your home.
You may also have less money coming in if you need to reduce your work hours or stop working.
Depending on your personal situation, you may be able to get:
- a payment to help with living expenses
- help with medical costs, such as the Medicare Safety Nets, PBS Safety Net, rebates for medical equipment and concession cards
- help managing your money, including where to get professional financial advice.
