Design and Building Practitioner
Find your occupation to see if it is included in the Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR) scheme. If it is included, you will find information to help you notify the relevant regulator and begin work in NSW.
Occupations which are exempt or not included in the AMR scheme may be included at a future date.
Building practitioners are not eligible for Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR) as there is no comparable scheme in other jurisdictions.
Interstate building practitioners will need to register under the Design and Building Practitioners scheme in NSW, to lodge designs and make a building declaration in the NSW Planning Portal.

Professional engineers and practising architects
If you hold a professional engineer or practising architect registration in your home state and have notified under AMR, you can apply for registration as a design practitioner in NSW.
