Included activities
See below the licensed activities included under this type of licence in NSW. This should be used as a guide to align the activities a person is licensed to do in their home state with the activities they wish to carry out in NSW.
This licence is required to demolish (or partially demolish), any building, structure or installation that:
- is more than 15 metres in height
- is a chemical installation
- involves a tower crane on site
- involves a mobile crane with a rated capacity of more than 100 tonnes
- has structural components that are pre-tensioned or post-tensioned
- involves floor propping
- involves explosives.

You must notify SafeWork NSW five calendar days before undertaking any demolition work that involves:
- the demolition of a structure more than six metres high
- load-shifting machinery (e.g. an excavator) on a suspended floor
- explosives.
The named supervisor for the licence holder must be present at the work site and supervise the carrying out of the licensed demolition work.
Notify the regulator
Interstate demolition licensees are required to notify the regulator, SafeWork NSW, of their intention to work in NSW under AMR.

You need this licence to demolish or partly demolish any structure or part of a structure that is loadbearing or otherwise related to the physical integrity of the structure and:
is between 6-15 metres high
involves using load-shifting machinery on a suspended floor, such as bulldozers, cranes, excavators, front-end and skid-steer loaders.

- more than 10sqm of non-friable asbestos or asbestos-containing material
- asbestos-contaminated dust from the removal of the above.
Due to the risks associated with disturbing asbestos, SafeWork NSW recommends licensed asbestos professionals remove any amount of non-friable asbestos.

Disposal of asbestos
You must notify SafeWork NSW five calendar days before undertaking any licensed asbestos removal work.
The nominated asbestos removal supervisor for the licence holder must be readily available to a worker carrying out asbestos removal work whenever the work is being carried out. Readily available means contactable by phone and able to arrive at the workplace within 20 minutes.
