Community and Small Business CCTV Fund
The Community and Small Business CCTV Fund was a program previously available to eligible small businesses and community organisations.
The CCTV Fund operated from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2023.
The fund provided funded CCTV packages of up to $5,000 to eligible community groups and small businesses in eligible Local Government Areas in Greater Sydney.
Information for recipients of CCTV packages
All CCTV systems installed under the fund are registered with the NSW Police. If a crime occurs, Police may request access to relevant data to help identify and prosecute offenders. Your right to privacy is important, so Police will only request access to your CCTV footage if a crime occurs.
Who was eligible?
Applications were previously open to:
- small businesses with turnover of less than $10 million or less than 20 employees
- incorporated not-for-profit community organisations.
Applicants also had to be operating from premises within one of the Local Government Areas (LGAs) listed below:
- Blacktown
- Burwood
- Campbelltown
- Canterbury-Bankstown
- Fairfield
- Hawkesbury
- Liverpool
- Penrith
- The Hills
- Blue Mountains
- Camden
- Canada Bay
- Cumberland
- Georges River
- Inner West
- Parramatta
- Strathfield
- Wollondilly
Each application was considered on a case-by-case basis by the CCTV Fund Assessment Panel.
Who was not eligible to apply?
You were not eligible to apply if you were:
- a home-based business
- an unincorporated entity
- located in a large industrial area or large shopping complex
- located outside the LGAs listed above
- seeking rebate or reimbursement of expenses for a system already installed
- a Community Organisation that is a for profit commercial organisation and not a small business
- a NSW council or Australian Government agency
- any other criteria listed in the Program Guidelines (PDF, 268KB).
