Retail Security Resource
Information on retail security.
The Department of Communities and Justice is integral in the NSW Government's strategy to develop a better understanding of crime and to apply this knowledge in ways that actively prevent crime from occurring. The Department develops a number of programs and policies aimed at reducing crime across NSW.
The Department developed the NSW retail security resource to assist in the reduction of retail crime impacting local businesses. Research and consultation with local retailers indicate that shoplifting is the most common crime that impacts on retailers. Retail crime can impact on a business's profit, customers, staff, and day-to-day trading practices.
This resource is designed specifically for the retail sector. It provides practical information to both management and staff that will assist in reducing the likelihood of crime occurring within their business.
By putting in place crime prevention measures within your business, you are protecting your business, customers, and staff. Preventing crime from occurring within your business can have a significant impact on the community and across NSW.
