After you are accredited
Your Statement of Accreditation
Once you are accredited, NESA will provide you with a Statement of Accreditation.
Use your Statement of Accreditation to show potential employers that you are accredited as a teacher in NSW.
Your statement will include advice to employers on the teaching areas you are trained to teach.
NESA does not consider any out-of-field teaching, other experience, qualifications, or training you may have that does not relate to the NSW curriculum in the accreditation process.
However, employers may consider the advice on your Statement of Accreditation and any experience or other training when making employment decisions.
For information on how teacher education providers and employers can support Conditionally accredited teachers read the
File
Principles for the employment of conditionally accredited teachers (PDF 158.66KB).
Moving from Conditional to Provisional accreditation
You can move from Conditional to Provisional accreditation when you have completed your teaching degree.
To move from Conditional to Provisional accreditation:
- Log in to your eTAMs account.
- Go to the Provisional tile.
- Submit certified copies of your:
- official transcript that confirms the date your qualification has been conferred or awarded
- official graduation certificate/testamur that confirms the date your qualification has been awarded.
Transcripts that state 'eligible for graduation' or 'qualified for' are not accepted.
If your submission proves you have achieved your degree, we will update your accreditation status in eTAMs to Provisional.
You will still have a maximum of 6 years from the date NESA awarded you Conditional accreditation to achieve Proficient teacher status, irrespective of when you move to Provisional accreditation.
You cannot move to Provisional accreditation if you were granted Conditional accreditation before 1 December 2021. Your 12-month timeframe to do so has ended.
