A free barbecue will be provided.
Far West Local Health District’s VANS Manager, Rebecca Deer, said addressing the issue of gender-based violence required urgent attention.
"In 2024, tragically, 85 women and 15 children have lost their lives due to domestic and family violence as of November 20."
"I encourage the Broken Hill and wider community to participate in these event, which aims to raise awareness about the vital support services available,” Ms Deer said.
“Gender-based violence against women and girls includes harassment, discrimination, coercive control, physical and sexual violence, verbal abuse, psychological and emotional abuse, economic abuse, and spiritual abuse. Everyone deserves to feel safe, equal, and respected."
