Remote residents of the Far West Local Health District are set to benefit from better access to the Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment (MERIT) program thanks to virtual care.

A new virtual healthcare service accessible through a phone call is now available to residents in Far West and Western NSW.

The breast screen clinic will be open in Broken Hill from Monday 28 April – Friday 9 May, 2025.

The Broken Hill Health Service Redevelopment has reached two significant milestones with the completion of the first stage of the $12 million Emergency Department (ED) upgrade and the building structure complete for the new Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
