Dr Casey Sullivan, a proud Wiradjuri and Gamilaroi woman, is a General Practitioner (GP) who owns her own medical practice in Tamworth – the first Indigenous privately-owned and managed GP practice in NSW. She is committed to increasing medical accessibility and cultivating change in the North West NSW community.
Casey was the first graduate of the University of New South Wales Indigenous Pre-Medicine Program in 2004. As well as being a GP, she supervises medical students and junior doctors, and partners with local Aboriginal Medical Services. In 2019, Casey was awarded GP Synergy Supervisor of the Year for her region. She is currently expanding her practice to include nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacy and – in a first in her community – a neurodivergent clinic. She is also studying Indigenous medicine and domestic violence counselling.
Casey is a sponsor for junior soccer, adult Indigenous touch football and the Variety Bash. She mentors Indigenous students at local primary and high schools, and is an experienced speaker on Indigenous cultural awareness and safety in medicine, and Indigenous palliative care. She is also a mum to 4 amazing children.
