Proposed name in Bega Valley LGA

The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal by National Parks and Wildlife Services to alter the spelling of Worang Point in the Bega Valley Council Local Government Area.
The point is situated at the northern tip of the entrance to Twofold Bay in Eden, within the Bega Valley Local Government Area. This proposal seeks to amend the current spelling of the place name from Worang Point to Worange Point, following consultations with the Traditional Owner groups of the area.
The point has historically been referred to as Worange Point by the Traditional Owners and this spelling is reflected in the original parish maps.
