The former Station Master's Cottage (the Site) in Captains Flat holds cultural and historical significance for the community and surrounds.

To honour the history and values of the Site and identify a possible commemorative tribute for the vacant Site, we are undertaking a historical interpretation project.

The project will allow Transport for NSW (Transport) to deliver greater community value by leveraging local knowledge and understanding the community vision for the Site.

As a part of this project, Transport will carry out community consultation from April 2024.

The purpose of the consultation is to understand:

  • Historical values of the Site
  • How these values can be best interpreted
  • A possible commemorative tribute that reflects the historical, cultural and community importance of the Site.

Tell us what you think

The project presents an opportunity for community and stakeholders to have their say and shape future options by allowing Transport for NSW to understand and honour the historical, cultural and community importance of the Site.

Your feedback will be used to identify themes and trends which we will consider when planning our work and determining the preferred historical interpretation option.

The project will be open for community consultation from 2 April until 14 May 2025.
