Getting your HSC results
Discover how to access your Higher School Certificate (HSC) results in NSW. Understand email and text results, and get digital or hard copies of your certificate.
Delivery of HSC results
HSC results will be delivered via email and text message. You will also be able to access your results by logging in to your Students Online account.
The table below shows how your results will appear as a text message.

Check your details
It is your responsibility to ensure your details are correct. Go to 'personal details' in your Students Online account to check the following.
- Is the email address the one you use most often? Remember you will have left school when HSC results are delivered, so your school email may not be the best address.
- Is your postal address correct? Your HSC Testamur will be sent to the address appearing here.
- Is your name spelt correctly? A processing fee applies if NESA has to reprint your HSC Testamur due to incorrect spelling.
Your school must update your name for you. You can update your email address, mobile number and postal address yourself.
HSC credentials
Digital copies
You can download your NESA and VET credentials as a free PDF via your Students Online account through Certificates/eRecord.
Your HSC credentials will include:
- an HSC Testamur
- your Record of Achievement showing your Year 12, 11 and 10 results
- personalised course reports for your HSC courses.

Remember to save or print your credentials, as your Students Online account will only remain open until 30 June, the following year.
Hard copies
Eligible students will receive a hard copy HSC Testamur.
For a small fee, you can order:
- a further copy of your HSC Testamur
- a printed copy of your HSC Credential Package (including Record of Achievement and course reports).
Order these copies via 'results services' within your Students Online account.
Record of School Achievement (RoSA)
If you leave school before completing your HSC, you may be eligible for the Record of School Achievement (RoSA). Once your school nominates you for a RoSA, you can download it as a free PDF via your Students Online account.
Important privacy information
NESA provides the personal details and results of all NSW students to the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) and TAFE NSW. UAC uses these to calculate Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranks (ATARs).
Your principal and some approved officials from the system your school belongs to will also have access to your results. Your school system may be the:
- Department of Education
- Catholic Schools NSW
- Association of Independent Schools of NSW.
Privacy and merit lists
NESA publishes HSC merit lists on its website to recognise achievements such as placing first in a course. It also shares these lists with select media outlets.
HSC merit lists include a student's name, school and course/s. NESA does not provide the media with the names or results of any other students. If you choose not to have your name published in a merit list you will not be eligible to receive associated awards.
