Case study: Mosman raised pedestrian crossing
This project near Mosman Public School promotes active transport, helping students get to school safely.
Mosman Public School students were greeted with a new raised pedestrian crossing for Term 1, 2024. The upgrade on Myahgah Road just outside the school gates has helped slow down traffic, making for a more enjoyable, stress free walk to school.
The project was funded by a $122,111 grant from Transport for NSW’s Get NSW Active program, with the remainder financed through Mosman Council’s capital works program.
Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan said the project was part of Council’s ongoing efforts to promote active transport in Mosman.
“We know that walking to school has great health and social benefits for our young students, so any works to enhance the safety of that experience are very welcome,” she said.
