Stepping Up
Stepping Up is NSW Health’s recruitment resource for Aboriginal people. It helps Aboriginal job applicants understand how to apply for roles in NSW Health. It also helps hiring managers to more effectively find the right person for the job.
Stepping Up provides practical information and tips on the NSW Health recruitment process. For more information, visit the Stepping Up website.
NBMLHD Aboriginal Traineeship Strategy
The NBMLHD Aboriginal Traineeship Strategy is an employment-based training initiative that gives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people an opportunity to develop skills through a NSW Health traineeship while studying a nationally and industry recognised qualification.
The length of the traineeship will depend on the course studied, but is usually for 12 months. The Aboriginal Employment Coordinator from NBMLHD helps trainees apply for jobs after they finish the traineeship.
NBMLHD Allied Health Cadetship
The NBMLHD Aboriginal Allied Health Cadetship program gives Aboriginal students an opportunity to gain work experience while doing full-time university study in an undergraduate allied health course.
The program offers cadets the opportunity to work in the local health district in a range of settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics or community health while completing their studies.
NBMLHD Aboriginal Talent Pool
NBMLHD is committed to improving the health disparities that Aboriginal people currently face compared to all other Australians in life expectancy and chronic illnesses. A clear way to help us achieve this goal is to engage, grow and support a skilled Aboriginal workforce.
The Aboriginal Talent Pool is an expedited Aboriginal recruitment strategy which focuses on establishing a talent pool that will form our future Aboriginal Workforce and is a key way we can engage and grow our Aboriginal Workforce.
