Gift in memory (in memoriam)
You can make a donation in memory of a loved one to Nepean Blue Mountains LHD or ask people attending a funeral for donations as an alternative to sending flowers.
You can request that the gift go to a specific area, such as a ward, department, research, patient equipment or simply to the area of most need.
We will send a tax-deductible receipt to every person who makes a donation in memory at the funeral service, and we will send you, or the nominated next of kin, a summary of everyone that has made a donation in memory.
It can be comforting to know that a gift given in memory of a loved one will create a lasting legacy that will impact generations to come.
In memoriam donations for funeral services
An effective way of letting your family and friends know of your wishes before the service is to include words such as these in the funeral notice:
"In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of <name of loved one> may be given to Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District PO Box 63, Kingswood NSW 2751 or by donating online"
If people choose to make a donation in memoriam online, they will need to include the name of the person in whose memory they are donating.
If donating in memoriam, we will send you a personal letter to thank you for your gift and you can request that we send a card to the next of kin of the person remembered, advising them of your donation.
If you are organising a funeral, and would like to ask for donations to be made to Nepean Blue Mountains LHD, please contact us on (02) 4734 4406 or email your enquiry to nbmlhd-donations@health.nsw.gov.au.
