There's a lot of opportunities with moving to a regional center in terms of career progression. Within physiotherapy, for example, we offer a rotational position that rotates through a number of different areas and gives a really broad experience to staff. We also have a number of specialist positions and I guess we tend to find that people can take on some of the more senior roles and some of those more challenging positions perhaps earlier in their career.

I think really working in the country, in a place like Wagga, is really interesting because you get such a variety of patients, so there's a really diverse population and also working in a case mode such as the such as rehab or ambulatory rehab, there's a real team approach and it's not just working with physios but it's also working with the occupational therapists, the speech therapists, the doctors, the orthodists, so there is definitely that team-based approach.

I think Wagga is a fabulous place to live as well, the time that you can save in transport here in Wagga compared to  working and living in a big city is just amazing. I think working within a small team we can really recognize people's individual strengths and also their development needs. We can know all of our staff quite individually and try and work towards you know what they would like in their career as well.
