You may be eligible for a range of benefits and incentives when you join our rural and remote facilities.
- Up to $5,000 or up to $20,000 sign on bonus and an annual $10,000 each year (dependent on position and location).
- $6,000 per year aged care bonus.
- Salary packaging – up to $9000 for living expenses; $2600 meal and entertainment; $9000 remote area housing and novated leasing.

Yes, if your role is defined as hard to fill or critical you may be eligible for the incentives as a retention payment. Current employees will be contacted about your incentive entitlements and timing of payments.
Eligible candidates will be able to negotiate from the incentive options available to them. If a candidate does not specify their preferences, Murrumbidgee LHD will pay the incentives package initially as a lump sum, and from 12 months service as an allowance, averaged over 26 pay periods.
We recommend anyone eligible for incentives seek independent financial advice before accepting an incentives package.
The incentives available are reoccurring payments within an employment package received annually. The scheme opened from July 2022 and future incentives are subject to recurrent funding.
If an employee leaves MLHD within 18 months of employment, or transfers to a lesser MM location, they may be required to repay some of the incentives:
• Employed for less than 6 months – 100% of incentive
• 6 months < 1 year – 65% of incentive
• 1 year < 18 months – 35% of incentive
• 18 months – nil

How we support new starters
We're committed to providing our new team members with a comprehensive onboarding program to assist you with settling into your new role and learning about our organisation.
Your first week
- Settle into your work environment, complete training and have regular discussions with your manager and let them know how you are tracking.
- Your manager, workforce services and other support people will be there to assist and you will be given peer support with a colleague if required.
Your first three months
- Work through our induction checklist.
- Take part in our structured performance development program to assist you to set your direction, further understand the position requirements and design your development goals.
