About our men's health services
We offer a range of services at Murrumbidgee LHD to help manage a variety of issues including chronic diseases, sexual health, substance use, anxiety, depression, and suicide prevention. These include:
We provide specialist clinical support at Murrumbidgee LHD for anyone experiencing severe, complex or long lasting mental ill health. You can access our mental health services or connect with these services:
- For fathers and dads-to-be, you can receive free text messages, support, info and tips by registering at SMS4Dads.
- The Rural Adversity Mental Health Program has 20 Coordinators based across regional, rural and remote NSW who inform, educate and connect individuals, communities and workplaces with appropriate services and programs.
Heart and lung services
We have services available for people with heart (cardiac) and lung conditions including coronary heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. These services focus on preventative health measures and support and include:
- Support for those with a lung condition such as emphysema or asthma. Our lung health service provides assessments, education, support and programs that may assist you.
- For those needing heart (cardiac) care support, our heart (cardiac) care service is available.
Chronic disease management
- our diabetes service aims to educate, assist and support people with diabetes and their families to gain and apply the information, confidence, practical problem solving and skills needed to manage their diabetes.
- Our healthy living programs can help you make healthy choices.
- Our Aunty Jeans Program is a community-orientated program to support Aboriginal peoples with/or at risk of chronic illness.
Our cancer services provide a limited range of treatment and supportive care to patients with cancer and partners with other services to ensure patients receive the care they require during their cancer journey.

- iCanQuit - for those wanting to quit smoking
- QuitLine - is a confidential telephone information and advice service, run by Cancer Institute NSW, to help smokers quit and stay quit.
- Bowel cancer screening service
Our sexual health service provides free testing, management, support and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) in a safe and private space.
We run programs to increase awareness of sexual health and supply information resources, free condoms and lubricant.
- Our HIV services provide free testing, management, support and treatment for HIV in a safe and private space.
- Our Hepatitis C treatment service provides free testing, support, assessment and treatment for chronic hepatitis C in a safe and private space.

Men's health week
Men's Health Week is celebrated each year in June. It's an opportunity to highlight the importance of men's health, and to promote and support the health and wellbeing of men and boys in our communities.
