Delivering social and affordable housing
The Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) offers secure homes and tailored support services to help more than 3,400 households build better, more independent lives.
SAHF is part of the Future Directions for Social Housing in NSW Strategy. This strategy sets out a 10-year plan to create better outcomes for people in need.
How SAHF works
SAHF focuses on providing accommodation as a service, rather than the government purchasing or owning properties. This model ensures flexibility and efficiency in housing delivery.
Homes for SAHF can be delivered through:
- new construction
- refurbishment and re-purpose of existing dwellings
- long term lease hold arrangements.
Expanding housing through SAHF
Through two procurement rounds, Homes NSW, in partnership with NSW Treasury, has secured over 3400 new social and affordable housing dwellings. These homes are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2023.
