The Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) will be holding three community events and information sessions which will include diabetes point of care testing and basic foot checks.
The District’s multidisciplinary team will be on site to answer any questions about diabetes, with a focus on helping people to know their risks and educating people on associated complications such as foot health. People will be linked into health services as required.
The LHD team will visit:
- Tuesday 16 July – White Cliffs CWA Rooms – 2:30pm – 4.30pm
- Wednesday 17 July – Ivanhoe Health Service – 12:00pm – 2:30pm
- Thursday 18 July – Buronga Health One, Yarning Circle – 11:30am – 2:30pm in conjunction with local NAIDOC Week celebrations.
The Far West LHD podcast ‘Far West of Centre’ will also feature a special Diabetes Week episode on Monday, 15 July.
This episode will feature local consumer, Des Rumble along with High-Risk Foot Podiatrist Grace Charlesworth and Project Officer Liz Clarke.
The podcast will offer tips for healthy feet in diabetes management and information on the services Far West is developing to meet the health needs of our communities now and into the future.
