Important fee information

Different registration types in one application

If you apply for different registration types in either Professional Engineer, Design Practitioner or Building Practitioner classes, you must pay the fees for each registration.
 

Applying for 2 or more classes within each licence type

If you apply for registration in 2 or more classes within each licence type in the same application, you pay the fee for the class with the highest fee amount.

Fees for mandatory learning modules

Design practitioners and building practitioners must complete 2 mandatory online learning modules before registering.

The fees are $140 per module and are payable when you purchase the course online.

These modules don’t need to be completed every time you renew your registration – only before you register the first time.

Non-refundable fees

The processing fee, a component of the total fee, is not refundable if your application is refused or withdrawn.

If your registration is cancelled because of disciplinary action, we will not refund any of the fees paid.

Applying for a new registration

Fees for applying for a new registration listed by licence class and showing costs for 1-, 3- and 5- year registrations.

Fees for varying your registration

You can apply to have your existing registration varied to add a new class. If you are adding a new registration type, you will need to pay the new application fee.

Renewing or restoring a registration

Renewal applications must be lodged on or before the expiry date of your current registration.

Restoration applications must be lodged within 3 months of the registration expiry date of your current registration. If the registration is expired for a period exceeding 3 months, you will need to lodge a new application for registration.
