Starting at Riverside Park Boardwalk, you’ll find two hand-carved red gum sculptures – the Pioneer Woman and Sir John Monash (chief engineer of the nearby bridge and later famed WWI military strategist). The park is the perfect spot for a picnic or just pop into a nearby café for some delicious snacks.
Continue on the footpath along the river, through the Barham Caravan Park, reading signs along the way about the Barham Koondrook Bridge, River Country’s natural environment, the Red Gum timber industry, and the original location of the Koondrook Barham Punt Crossing.
Finish your walk at the Border Flywheelers Museum, a quaint museum that aims to collect, restore and exhibit tractors, machinery, engines, and other artefacts used by the farming community throughout the Murray Darling Basin.
