NSWTA Managing Director Kylie De Courteney delivered a keynote presentation on the importance of closing the digital divide and creating inclusive, robust telecommunications infrastructure for all communities.
Kylie also joined a panel discussion on rapid response in times of need alongside Deputy Commissioner Kyle Stewart, NSW Rural Fire Service, Director Single Digital Patient Record David Cernjul, eHealth NSW and Chief Product Officer Arnie Bhattacharya, Nuix.
During the panel, Kylie highlighted a range of improvements to NSWTA’s emergency management capabilities following the 2019/20 bushfires and the 2022 floods.
This includes increasing the suite of deployable assets (like Cells on Wheels) that can be used in emergencies, improving geospatial intelligence mapping and data sharing capabilities, developing a surge workforce to support operational staff.
Throughout the day, NSWTA displayed the newly upgraded Telecommunications Services Functional Area vehicles along with emergency management equipment like fly-away kits and Public Safety Network radios and were joined by some of our customers.
Among other conference exhibitors, NSWTA conducted demonstrations of the Connectivity Index and displayed other key programs like the Digital Connectivity Principles at the Digital NSW stall for conference attendees.
