The NSW Government‘s housing affordability package eliminates stamp duty for first homebuyers purchasing a new or existing property valued up to $650,000. Stamp duty savings are offered for purchases of homes valued between $650,000 and $800,000.
Since the package was introduced in July 2017, over 19,000 people have bought their first home.
New figures have revealed regional NSW and the Greater Sydney are popular areas for first homebuyers.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the figures show the government’s focus on housing is having a real impact on people’s lives across the state.
“While we know there is always more to do on tackling housing affordability, the results so far clearly show that we are turning the tide for first homebuyers,” Ms Berejiklian said.
