The following policies and guidelines outline how Youth Justice works with non-government organisation service providers to deliver intervention and prevention programs and services. The aim of this work is to help young people thrive in the community by preventing offending and re-offending behaviour.

The Youth Justice Funded Services Framework sets the strategic context and funding relationship between Youth Justice and funded service providers.

The Framework is informed by Youth Justice priorities, core business and human rights-based principles. The Framework supports the Youth Justice Funded Services Policy and Youth Justice Funded Services Referral, Review and Exit Procedure.

The Youth Justice Funded Services Policy sets the strategic direction and framework for the engagement of funded services contracted by Youth Justice to provide specific services to young people on behalf of Youth Justice.

Funded Services Referral, Review and Exit Procedure
The Youth Justice Funded Services Referral, Review and Exit Procedure clarifies all processes associated with the referral, review and exit of young people engaged with Youth Justice funded services. The procedure ensures consistency, transparency, accountability and accurate data recording.

Charter
The Charter for working with contracted service providers defines the principles, values, commitments and expectations of the working relationship between Youth Justice and Non-Government Organisation (NGO) service providers in achieving positive outcomes for individuals, families and communities.
Ethical conduct
The Department of Communities and Justice Code of Ethical Conduct defines the standards of conduct, ethics and behaviour required of all individuals engaged by Youth Justice, and a process for managing non-compliance.

Privacy
The Key privacy obligations for DCJ contractors factsheet sets out the key privacy obligations for service providers, NGOs, private sector organisations or other public agencies that are funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to deliver services and programs. Work, health and safety
The health and safety of workers, contractors, clients and visitors is of utmost importance. The Work Health and Safety Policy outlines the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) work health and safety (WHS) commitments, legal responsibility and framework for setting WHS objectives.
Information security
Service providers are required to maintain secure information and notify Youth Justice when an actual or suspected information security incident is detected. To learn about the obligations and requirements for service providers to maintain secure information and report incidents, view our policy.
