This procedure is used when one of the following occurs:
- the Centre Manager, in consultation with the Manager, Court Logistics, Classification and Placements assesses that a young person meets the criteria and is suitable for consideration for transfer to an adult correctional centre
- a young person who is 18 years and older requests a transfer to an adult correctional centre
- a young person 18 years and 1 month, or older, is admitted into a Youth Justice Centre and has previously been detained as an inmate in an adult correctional centre for a period of, or periods totalling, more than 4 weeks, or
- an inmate who is currently, or has previously been, detained as an inmate in a correctional centre (other than a Youth Justice Centre) for a period of, or periods totalling, more than 4 weeks.
