What action should I take?
Replace or renew your Australian Passport so that it receives a new document number. This will prevent criminals from using the compromised number as proof of identity through the Document Verification Service.

Replace your Medicare card to get a new expiry date and updated card number. This will prevent criminals from using the compromised card details as proof of identity through the Document Verification Service.
You can request a new card online via:

- the Express Plus Medicare app
- by calling Services Australia’s Scams and Identity Theft Helpdesk on 1800 941 126 Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm AEST (AEDT during daylight saving months)
- or by visiting a Services Australia service centre.
Digital Medicare cards can be ready to use straight away.
Physical Medicare card can take 3-4 weeks to arrive by post.

Photo card (NSW)

If your NSW Photo Card has been stolen or exposed in a data breach, we recommend you get a new card. Replace your NSW Photo Card online through your My ServiceNSW account or by visiting a ServiceNSW service centre .
Replacing your NSW Photo Card may not reduce the risk of misuse, however, you can place a restriction on your Transport for NSW account to prevent misuse relating to a Transport for NSW transaction.
It's important to note that NSW Photo Cards do not contain your Transport for NSW customer number.

Seniors card (NSW)

Replace your NSW Seniors Card.
Option 1: If you only have a physical seniors card, and not a digital seniors card
Replace it by upgrading to a digital card
You will still get a replacement physical card, but a digital card will give you a new expiry date and card number.

Option 2: If you already have a digital seniors card
Replace it online through your MyServiceNSW account.
