If you are evicted
Learn whether your eviction is lawful, and what may happen if you do not comply with a termination order.
If you have been evicted and do not move out of the property by the date your lease ends, your landlord or agent can apply for a termination order at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal to have you evicted.
If you’re still in the property by the date in the termination order, a sheriff’s officer can legally remove you from the property under a warrant for possession issued by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal or a court.
It’s illegal for a landlord or agent to lock you out of your home without following this process.
