Program objective
The objective of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to fill up to 12 positions on the Sound NSW Advisory Board. The Sound NSW Advisory Board provides advice to assist the NSW Government in the development of policies and initiatives to enhance the contemporary music sector in the state.
Board members will identify issues and opportunities affecting the contemporary music sector in NSW and propose strategies to address gaps and enhance support, provide advice on contemporary music related priorities, projects and proposals and provide advice on matters relating to the intersection between the contemporary music sector and the broader creative industries.
Board members’ advice will also support the implementation of the 10-year contemporary music strategy. Board members will commit to a minimum of four meetings per year, for a period of up to three years. Members may occasionally be asked to provide out-of-session advice.
The Board will reflect a diversity of skills and experience and will understand the complexity of the needs of contemporary music artists, industry professionals and music businesses. They will be well positioned to inform Sound NSW on matters impacting the contemporary music sector.
Applications are invited from music industry professionals, including artists, songwriters, managers and venue owners and those in music businesses and organisations. Sound NSW is committed to ensuring cultural, geographical, gender, age and genre diversity on the Board and encourages all interested applicants to apply.
