A Deputy Chairperson will also be appointed to act as Chair in case of their absence.
Members will serve a term of one to three years. Members are eligible for reappointment but can serve no more than three consecutive terms (i.e. the maximum time served on the Board is nine years).
A Code of Conduct governs Advisory Board members’ participation. All members are required to declare their interests upon appointment and again prior to the commencement of Board meetings.
Advisory Board meetings will take place both in person (Sydney) and online. Where reasonable, Sound NSW will organise and pay for travel arrangements for members based outside Sydney to attend in-person Advisory Board meetings.
A minimum of four meetings are held per year. Board members will be notified in advance of Board meeting times and it is expected that members be available for these meetings. Meetings will be held during business hours and will typically last no longer than three hours.
Members may occasionally be asked to provide out-of-session advice.
The Sound NSW Advisory Board is a C2(i) classified Board. Board Members are paid $5,000 per annum and the Chairperson $10,000 per annum. Public Service employees are not entitled to remuneration.
