Planning for end of life can be challenging. Find out what services and support are available if you need emotional or mental health support.
It's not always easy to think about your own death, and people may react in different ways.
If planning for end of life has caused you emotional or mental health distress, there is a range of support services you can access, including:
- if you feel you need support right away, call the Lifeline Crisis centre 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 13 11 14
- professional help, advice and referrals to local mental health services at NSW Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511

- help with depression and anxiety at Beyond Blue or 1300 22 4636
- telephone and online counselling services for men at Mensline on 1300 789 978
- mental health resources at Head to Health
- get in touch with a social worker through Services Australia.
But good mental health is more than just an absence of mental illness. It can also involve a range of other factors, including:
