NSW Fee Free – what is it?
NSW Fee Free is a Skills NSW initiative introduced by the NSW and Commonwealth governments in 2023, to support vocational training and skills development across NSW.
The Minister for Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education: The Hon. Steve Whan announced the extension of this Fee Free TAFE initiative in NSW for a further three years. The extension will deliver an additional 147,400 fee free places from 1 January 2024 to 30 December 2026. This will be rolled out in stages.
Arrangements for training commencements for July to December 2024 are in place now. For further information on what courses are available in this period, please visit Skills Compare. Please note NSW Fee Free places are limited and a Fee Free place is not guaranteed.
The funding will deliver a significant boost to the NSW skills and training sector by providing fee free places in courses that support NSW businesses and industries experiencing skills and labour shortages.
