Apprenticeships
In some instances, eligible Cross Border Providers may be approved to deliver subsidised training to NSW registered apprentices where interstate training is the only practical option available.
This approval is managed on a case-by-case basis by the local Training Services centre. Apprentice Connect Australia Providers, employers and/or their apprentices must apply to the local Industry Training Co-ordinator for approval prior to commencing training with an interstate RTO.
The following criteria will be used to assess eligibility:
- There is no practical training option available to utilise an approved Smart and Skilled Provider.
- The interstate RTO
- is an approved Cross Border Provider, and
- has the appropriate qualification on their scope of registration, and
- is aware of and committed to meeting the relevant Vocational Training Order (VTO) requirements.
Where approval is granted, the subsidised training will be paid according to the published NSW Smart and Skilled Prices, fees and subsidies.
Where approval is not granted, the apprentice may still enrol with an interstate RTO at their own or their employer's cost (fee for service).
