Final year student data
NSW initial teacher education (ITE) providers supply final year student data to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). We use the data to grant Conditional or Provisional accreditation. ITE providers can request a copy of the template.
Sharing final year student data
As an ITE provider in NSW, you play a critical role in providing accurate final year student data to support their accreditation as teachers.
We use the data to make accreditation decisions on the subjects that graduates will be qualified to teach.
Accreditation
Students receive accreditation based on the data you provide. They may receive either Conditional or Provisional accreditation.
Conditional accreditation:
- is granted at the beginning of the final year of a teacher education qualification
- allows students to work as teachers while they complete their studies.
Provisional accreditation is granted when:
- the student successfully completes a recognised course of initial teacher education, and
- NESA receives a final transcript confirming degree completion and the conferral date.
Providing your data
We seek this data from you each February. If you do not receive the email request for data by the end of February please email julie-anne.scott@nesa.nsw.edu.au to request a copy of the final year student data template.
