Recognition of schools outside NSW
A school from outside NSW that is recognised by NESA may enter candidates for the award of the RoSA or the HSC. Find a list of recognised schools outside NSW and the requirements for recognition.
Requirements
The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is responsible for providing advice and making recommendations about the recognition of schools outside NSW.
A recognised school from outside NSW may enter candidates for the award of the Record of School Achievement (RoSA) and/or Higher School Certificate (HSC).
The requirements for recognition are detailed in the Manual for the recognition of schools outside NSW to present students for the NSW Record of School Achievement and/or Higher School Certificate (PDF 373.33KB).
The Manual includes information about submitting an expression of interest, the process for submitting an application for recognition, and relevant forms to be submitted to NESA for assessment and approval.
The Manual should be read in conjunction with the Education Act 1990 and, as applicable, NESA’s syllabuses, Assessment Certification Examination (ACE) website and Official Notices.
Applications
Schools outside NSW seeking recognition for the first time should complete and email the Expression of Interest (EOI) (DOCX 916.32KB) with supporting evidence to schoolrego@nesa.nsw.edu.au.
Schools outside NSW with current recognition seeking renewal should complete the application form in RANGS Online.
