Disability adjustments for NAPLAN
How to determine NAPLAN adjustments
Finding the right adjustments for your students
Schools are best placed to determine the needs of individual students in consultation with parents and carers. The student's parent or carer must sign a consent form before the test period.
Your school should use the public demonstration site to check if the available adjustments meet your students' individual needs. The site allows students with disability to test adjustments such as colour themes.
Not all available adjustments will meet the needs of every student. For example:
- some assistive technologies and colour contrast modifications may not be compatible with the online NAPLAN tests.
- images may lose their clarity at settings above 200% (equivalent to above N24) when using the zoom function.
- the online NAPLAN tests are not available for students who use braille.
