Stage 6 VET Board Endorsed courses

Stage 6 VET Board Endorsed courses (VET BECs) give Year 11 and 12 students the practical skills and experience to confidently step into work, further training, or even a related university course. They’re a great way to prepare for life beyond school.

Apply for a new VET BEC

Schools need to follow this process to get approval for a new Stage 6 VET BEC, add units of competency, or adjust the delivery pattern.

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships

Students can jumpstart their dream career while finishing the HSC with a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (SBAT). Get real world experience while gaining a nationally recognised VET qualification.

  • count as Board Endorsed unit credit for the HSC
  • do not contribute towards an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)
