When you need an aquatic events licence in NSW
Planning an event, competition or other activity on NSW waterways? You may need an aquatic events licence. Here’s how, when and where to apply.
An aquatic event is any activity which restricts the availability of navigable waters for normal use by the public.
Transport for NSW imposes penalties for aquatic events held without an aquatic event licence. There are a range of situations When you need an aquatic event licence.
To apply for an aquatic event licence, you’ll need to:
- submit your application
- submit your supporting documentation
- pay the appropriate fees.
You must submit your application at least 6 weeks before the event. If this is not done the application may be refused. You should allow more time for more complex activities. For more information refer to Aquatic event licences.
